From the Coyote Den: June 23 - 27, 2025

We're heading into our last week together, and we have a few important reminders and updates to share with you all!
Legacy Mural Update
The Legacy Mural has been a huge success! Our students had a great time expressing themselves and sharing things about themselves, all memorialized on the wall. We've received such positive feedback from students, staff, and families. This is a wonderful new tradition, and future Grade 8s will also participate in this activity as part of their transition to high school!
Lost and Found - Last Call!
We're not saying our lost and found is haunted, but we did hear a whisper that sounded suspiciously like a forgotten math textbook begging for its owner. The lost and found has officially reached critical mass, so please help us claim your items before we have to build an addition to house it all! All remaining items will be bagged up and donated after Thursday, June 27th. Thank you to our School Council who helped to spread the never-ending clothing piles into something more organized!
Hot Lunch Update & A Huge Thank You!
Just a quick reminder that there will be no hot lunch this week. We want to extend a huge thank you to Carrie Doyle, Lindsay Sherk, Jenna Boivin, Kayla Fernet, and all the other fantastic parent volunteers who kept us so well-fed throughout the year! We truly appreciate your dedication.
Volunteer Appreciation Day Breakfast
A friendly reminder about our Volunteer Appreciation Day breakfast on Monday, June 23rd, from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM. We can't wait to celebrate all of your incredible contributions!
Staffing Updates - Welcomes and Farewells!
We're sharing our gratitude and some exciting news regarding our wonderful staff. We're saying a fond farewell to Ms. Harrison, Ms. Holvey, Mme Reece, Ms. Montiel, and Ms. Runions. We'll also be bidding adieu to our fantastic long-term occasional teachers (who we know aren't going far!): Mr. Abdul, Ms. Rasyidah, Ms. Nisbet, Ms. Kohls, Ms. Hines, and Mme Emilie. Thank you all for your incredible work and dedication!
We're thrilled to welcome back Ms. Samantha in the Frog class, Ms. Annie in the Owl class, Ms. Ireland in the office, and Mme Tait for next year! We also extend a warm welcome to our new staff member, Ms. Jennie Seaborn, who will be our Instrumental Music Teacher.
Jump Rope for Heart!
On Tuesday, our students will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart during the middle block. This is a fantastic event for a great cause! We're aiming to raise $2000. Please consider sharing this link with your friends and family to help us reach our goal:

Special Thanks!
We want to extend a huge thank you to Ms. Westbrook and Mr. Bowlby for their incredible dedication coaching our intermediates to the Board finals of track and field! Your hard work truly paid off.
A big shout-out also goes to our amazing Kinder team for organizing a fantastic pool party day with the firefighters! What a memorable experience for our youngest students.
Grade 8s Had a Blast at 5 Star Camp!
Our Grade 8s recently had an incredible time on their year-end trip to 5 Star Camp! We've heard all about the fun and laughter they shared, from exciting activities to making lasting memories with their classmates. It sounds like it was the perfect way to celebrate their time with us before heading off to high school!
KOTR School Council Appreciation
Finally, a heartfelt thank you to our KOTR School Council for a truly great year-end school and family event! We especially appreciate your flexibility and quick thinking in making last-minute changes to ensure we all had something wonderful to celebrate at the end of the year. Strategies for Dealing with High Heat and/or Humidity
In anticipation of Monday's forecast, we want to inform you of the strategies our school will employ to ensure the health and safety of our students during periods of high heat and/or humidity. Our school building is air-conditioned, and we also take proactive steps to mitigate the impacts of hot weather conditions on student well-being and learning.
